MG Planning offers a range of other services including:

We provide advice and undertake research on a wide range of planning issues, particularly on behalf of government agencies and councils. From site specific analyses to state wide policies, MG Planning has the skills and experience to translate complex and multifaceted planning issues into plain English reports suitable for public consumption. In particular, we have considerable experience in editing strategic planning and other technical documents.

We are also able to provide project manage services. This includes overseeing the work of other technical consultants preparing project briefs, providing detailed project briefings, reviewing reports and managing timeframes and deliverables.

Determining public infrastructure requirements and financing options is a complex process requiring a detailed understanding of the legislative and land development framework. MG Planning is able to provide sound and practical advice regarding the assessment and reasonableness of contributions. MG Planning has also worked on infrastructure financing strategies for a number of major metropolitan projects.

Barangaroo – Tender Evaluation

barangaroo-otherserMG Planning was appointed as an expert planning advisor to assist in the NSW Government’s evaluation of commercial bids for the right to develop Stage 1 (now known as Barangaroo South) of the Barangaroo site. Following appointment of the successful tenderer MG Planning has continued to work with the Barangaroo Delivery Authority to provide expert advice on a range of matters including the Headland Park, Barangaroo Central, integration of the site with the adjacent city development and infrastructure delivery.

Growth Centres DCPs Review


MG Planning was engaged by the Department of Planning and Environment to undertake a review of its Growth Centres Development Control Plans. The review examined the DCP provisions, particularly those that influence the delivery of housing, identified existing strengths and weaknesses, provided an analysis of how effective the DCP provisions have been in practice and made recommendations regarding future changes to the DCPs. The review was prepared in close liaison with the Department and involved extensive consultation with Growth Centre councils and developers.

Lower Hunter over the next 20 years – Consultation Report

lower-huntervineyardThe Lower Hunter Discussion Paper was released in 2013 as part of the development of a new regional growth plan for the Lower Hunter. This work included an extensive program of consultation with residents, community groups, local businesses, industry and councils. MG Planning was engaged by the Department of Planning and Environment to revise and edit the summary of submissions report, particularly drawing out the key issues for consideration in the next phase of regional planning.
